KEMPINSKI HOTEL – SWAKOPMUND, NAMIBIA
This project was a design competition for a new hotel located in the coastal city Swakopmund in the South West African nation of Namibia.
The proposed design included a tower and retail podium with hotel rooms distributed in a double loaded configuration.
From a Design perspective the driving inspiration for the façade were the dunes of Namib desert which was achieved through the carefully placed balconies of the guestrooms which replicate the fluid texture of the desert sands.
