Icon is a residential building situated in the emergency financial district of Cape Town’s CBD. The building embraces
the needs and desires of city living, providing an opportunity to live and recreate in a secure environment that engages with the city.
The ground floor of the building provides approximately 1800m² of retail space over a four storey volume on one side of the building.
This is expressed architecturally with curved glazed façades that allow in natural light and create a connection with the street.
The luxury apartments form a tower above and include a mix of studio, one and two bedroom apartments. Precast concrete panels articulate the tower façades, punctuated by glazed elements and balconies. The sweeping curve and glazed windows of the tower on the North side is a direct response to maximizing exposure to sunlight and the beautiful harbour and city views.
