Haitang Bay is an ambicious 784.000m² project encompassing 5 hotels, a residential precinct, an office tower and a shopping mall including an indoor ski slope.
The brief required that each hotel should be themed so as to represent a stylised journey along the historical silk route.
As such, the hotels include architectural influences from China, India, Arabia, Egypt and Europe (Venice).
Separating the public and residential districts from the hotels is a large man made lake, complete with dancing fountains, an events island and a wave pool.
The hotels are located between this lake and the South China sea shoreline allowing unencumbered beach access for guests.
